Ayurveda – The Natural Science

Ayurveda is the 5000 years old traditional Indian medicine. Many people believe it has a natural approach. What is a natural approach? That it uses herbs derived from nature and not anything that is synthetically made, like plastic? What exactly makes it natural? Or even primitive, because it does not has complicated instruments or laboratories to test its theories or medicines, that it does not test its medicines on animals or humans or that its theories never change or improve with time? What makes it natural?

Ayurveda is not natural, it is nature! It is the knowledge of nature that helps to cure, Nature that never changes essentially. How did it evolve? According to the ancient text, it was received in meditation and not developed by the trial and error method over thousands of years. How is knowledge formed? One would say that it is formed by research and experimentation. Research is based on our conscious mind. The Sanskrit word for research is “Manan”, to resolve through the mind. The tools of mind are research and experimentation on mental and physical levels.

However, our mind is polluted. We see what we want to, believe what we want to and therefore it takes multiple experiments by different agencies to prove the same fact, so that the human error is nullified. It is surprising that Neil Bohr saw the structure of atoms in a dream, According to Dmitri Mendeleev, the inventor of periodic table, “In a dream I saw a table where all the elements fell into place as required. Awakening, I immediately wrote it down on a piece of paper.”

Friedrich August Kekulé saw the structure of benzene in a dream and there are multiple such discoveries that were propelled by the subconscious mind and verified by the physical experimentation. The point is that there is a whole subtle world of complete knowledge that exists at a certain vibrations, at a certain level of energy. What if in a subtle state of meditation, we could connect to this world and tap the flawless knowledge. According to the history of Ayurveda, it was discovered by the meditating seers and verified by the others. So, Ayurveda is a translated and abridged version of nature that cures. It is the code that is passed on by the developer of the program in which we live – our mind, our world!

Apart from growing them, they are also easy to use and have multiple uses.
